All games for the qualifying event must be completed on the final week of the schedule. Weeks that the ChessNuts Club does not meet are not counted toward the tournament schedule. Teams: Teams are formed by chess players in the same section and from the same school. Each team is represented by all of the students from their school, with the top four scores from the group used as the team score. If there are fewer than four players from a school, they may still form a team, but they will have fewer scores to pool for their team score. Pairings: Computer generated pairings. USCF swiss system pairing rules are applied in all sections, including provisions for combination individual/team events. For pairing purposes, a player's USCF rating will be used to determine their initial placement within their section. If a player is not USCF rated, their performance rating from previous NDCA Scholastic Chess Tournaments may be used. For information, contact Joe McNamara at sackamunr20@yahoo.com. |
